    Labour will always be central in these things but I'm pretty sure everyone is latching onto the bridge thing because it was the only policy outlined in the tweet that is tangible. "Less traffic, quicker ports, " those aren't prescriptive the way "removing weight limits on bridges" is.

    But also depending on where you live in the USA I imagine bridge weight limits also hurt a fair bit. Years of disinvestment of infrastructure has left a lot of bridges able to support as little as half the weight they were designed for back before everyone started driving 2-tonne F350s. If you live in a city with a lot of rivers or freeways (all USian cities) then trucking shit has actually been getting harder over time because fewer and fewer bridges can support all the weight they need to to maintain current volumes in trucks. This is also exacerbated by snow in the winter, both for traffic and for weight.
