When the LOTR movies were still in theaters and hugely popular i remember seeing the scenes set in Mordor and thinking "wow this place couldn't suck more, I wonder what the food and cultural products in a place like that would be like."
Nowadays, every time the NFL playoffs roll around I inevitably hear someone say "I only watch the super bowl for the commercials," because white America is so absolutely devoid of culture or any kind of originality that advertisements pass as cultural products.

I just saw a nugget of extremely nasty propaganda that I need to share: The story was about a homeless puppy who read sad about the whole "not having a place to stay or a family" thing. The puppy was cheered up however by the responsible adult dog singing a happy song about how she had been homeless as a puppy herself until she worked very hard and pulled herself up by the bootstraps and become a cop, a fucking cop.
This is the kind of filth they blast into the heads of our children. Social Darwinism, victim blaming against the homeless and glorification of the police state, all coated in disgustingly sugary positivity and presented within the safe and friendly boundaries of a brightly coloured cartoon world with no sharp edges, no social antagonism and no real consequences for the oppressed besides some light sadness that can be cured with a happy motivational song.
