Asimov has this very chill way of writing off capitalism in "I, Robot".

Its a very techno-utopian outlook, but the short of it is that greedy assholes simply aren't going to jive with an set of Strong-AI software designed to optimize quality-of-life on a global scale. Communities that adopt the software flourish, while those that don't get marginalized. And flourishing societies gradually hedge out and downsize greedy assholes, until they don't have meaningful input into regional politics or global trade.

Asimov is a very liberal utopian guy and this presents a very liberal utopian transition to communism. But its pleasant to believe the simple ambient desire to optimize and improve society at a universal level will triumph singular selfish individuals who are trying to monopolize resources for themselves. No big ugly globalized civil war. No horrific bloody struggle for power. Just an algorithm that spits out the most treats to the folks who are the most egalitarian, run on a long enough timeline, until we slide into communism by default.
