love living in a country where trucks so big that they make it more likely they will kill pedestrians are allowed on the roads. and also millions of road raging morons who drive like they want to die/kill and they don't care who they hurt. so fun.

a little doomposting in the spoiler

    spoiler

All these deaths are preventable. Covid is our latest normalized mass casualty event, but vehicular killings have been going strong for over a century. When you point out that either don't have to happen, people look at you like you have two heads. The idea that America is a death cult used to seem like hyperbole to me, but how else do you explain the fact that it's acceptable for hundreds or thousands of people to die needlessly every day? I commute by bike, and every day I wonder if today's the day when some asshole in an SUV ends my life because they have their nose buried in their phone on the way to the grocery store.

Half the sidewalks around me just randomly evaporate and I’m forced to either walk along side a road or try and cross four lanes of traffic

My husband saw an suv drive up a protected bike lane because a biker cut them off last month. Shit’s crazy
