Normal long hair have-ers of hexbear.

...what's a normal amount of shedding for like washing your hair and, like, brushing your clammy fingers through it because you can't stop messing with it?

Asking for a friend who recently grew theirs out and would be really bummed if there was hair loss going on

Kind of a lot? You lose a lot of hair each day, and unless its really really bad, its probably normal. Also depends on the health of your hair of course.

Also it is now easily distinguishable from ambient cat hair :data-outdoor-cat:

you probably don't need to worry about it - it does always feel like too much hair though, i know the feeling lol

btw if you have long hair and you have a desk chair with wheels, check the wheels every so often because loose hair gets caught there really easily - pro tip

I'll usually get 1-3 strands on my fingers if I brush my hand through. My wife sheds like a golden retriever. I think it's one of those things where individual mileage varies.
