    Disney sanctions Russia.

“Given the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis, we are pausing the release of theatrical films in Russia, including the upcoming ‘Turning Red’ from Pixar,” Disney said.

Ay this point I assume everyone is gonna have to do this or get shouted down and then they’ll quietly go back to working within russia as soon as it’s socially acceptable

I don’t believe any of these idiots give a shit about this at all its all oerformative. They wouldn’t know solidarity if it bit them on the ass. This is just part of the spectacle. And the capitalists are just trying to do what’s best for their bottom line, they’ll be back to raking in rubles the microsecond they’re able

I think so too. Disney surely did this because they decided it would be a bad look to be doing business with Russia. I feel bad for the average Russian. Many people will look at them as somehow being personally responsible and I think we are a day or two away from the war getting very ugly.

It’s extremely depressing that in 2022 we’re still starting shit with people who have nothing to do with a conflict other than their ancestors being from there or even looking a certain way. Reaction as a dominant culture is fucking embarrassing man.

Now we're cooked. If I can't see Dune 2 in the theatre I'm going to be pissed.

I'm really struggling to see the connection between modern Russia and a Pixar movie about a Chinese-Canadian girl in Toronto who turns into a giant red panda because of a familial curse.
