The whole thing is just a game for the west. They never face the consequence for the misery they have wrought upon the world. I regretted becoming an atheist in my teenage years, because now I can’t ever again comfort myself with the thought that the wicked will go to hell.

Big fucking mood there. When I was more naive than I am now, my greatest wish for something that I knew could never actually happen used to be that I could go back in time and try to fix shit. But now that wish is for some form of cosmic justice. Oh how I wish the suffering of the innocent could somehow be rectified in some beautiful afterlife and that, like you said, those who caused it would face the consequences of the misery they wrought. But it just isn't the case - I can't trick or force myself to believe that it is. If I think about it too much though, I end up going down a spiral of doomerism that I can barely come back from. Nah, evil wins. Not always, but most of the time. And I have little doubt this scenario unfolding right now will prove to be another example of it.
