    After the F-35s I am convinced of the reverse. The US empire will end once the defense contractors become so brazen that we find our latest iteration of nukes, missiles, and planes just fail to work and the US gets steamrolled, unable to defend itself.

    Edit: especially the nukes, like if those are firing off, the world is ending anyway and holding you accountable is the least of your issues. Why not use some cheaper radioactive material for extra profits, that doesn't go critical, but will set of Geiger counters when the military inspectors get near the missile.
