    This article is quite strange. I remember learning in primary school that light moves slower through a medium than in a vacuum, same as everything else, so it's very strange to see a science article articulating that yes, primary schools physics.

      The only thing to keep in mind is that the photon is not actually moving any slower, it just makes a longer way around stuff cause it is bouncing around therefore moving more, from what I could gather they made a maze for light with some properties that make the "bouncing" of the light lose less energy
