I’ve been using it and the obvious standouts are the pronoun tags and the emoji picker. Obviously they allow image uploads, but I don’t have a folder full of Hexbear emojis on my phone.

Federation and blocking are two things that have me excited for the switch. Not trying to rush. Just curious.

Theres unfortunately a lot. Some off the top of my head:

    1. pronouns
    2. Two factor authentication
    3. Emojis
    4. Improved mod tooling
    5. Http-based endpoints (as opposed to Websocket for everything)
    6. React-based frontend, Lemmy uses a spinoff/fork called Inferno

    that list isn't exhaustive however.

I believe the Lemmy js library now supports http and websocket calls for all actions. Thank you for the list!

@layla - might be good for you to summarize some of the work y’all been doing here on the delta between mainstream lemmy and hexbear. iirc you already had a planning doc with the highlights. Could also be its own post in this comm for the algo

I will write that and post today. Initially I was waiting for mako's PR to get merged but that has taken far longer than we expected. Love your username btw

Good looking out, love that hexbear dev is picking up again! Hoping the lemmy devs play nice this time lol
