This is why I think when, not if, Trump runs for 2024 all he has to do is promise a return of the checks as well some form of vague promise of rent control and draining the swamp of aimless bureaucrats he'll win again and permanently destroy the psyche of most liberals. Trump winning is good for accelerating America in the long term but would be worse for leftists now. Libs would absolutely blame everyone left of Obama for letting the god dang cheeto back in to the friggin white house and will go full anticom, which will be enabled by the right for obvious reason.
The left will never be allowed any meaningful action within the democratic party unless backed by very angry citizens with the implication of force (not just votes) that disruptions will occur until demands are met (imagine George Floyd Riots again but even more angry and pissed off telling the dems to fuck off would be needed).
