The cherry on this sh*t ice cream sunday? His VP, Sara Duterte, is the daughter of the outgoing Rodrigo Duterte. Under the Philippines constitution, presidents can only serve one 6-year term in office (following the original Marcos's decade-long martial law in his second term). Basically, this is a way for Duerte to continue to be involved in politics despite not "officially" being the one in office. (Think Jered Kushner, Ivanka Trump, etc.)
