This story is just crazy. The dude fled the Philippines after Ferdinand Marcos was deposed and somehow kept dual citizenship and voted for Bongbong in the recent election.

I know "clownworld" is reactionary bullshit, but we're rapidly spiraling towards news headlines like "Bongbong Assassinates Dissidents".

How bad is he? All I know is that he wants to open up ties to China and his opponent wanted to "Stop the bullying" or whatever, so I figured this is why John Oliver was very anti-BongBong or whatever

Honestly I've been looking for localized leftist sources to learn more about this election. I know he's the son of a dictator, but I interact with Filipinos on the regular who say that doesn't matter and he was the best choice. There's a huge "martial law was fake news" culture that seems to have been pushed by the Marcos team on social media. Politics in the Philippines are very strange and using U.S. standards as an analog is not adequate.
