Angela Davis always makes me sad. She is emblematic of the success and eventual sabotage of black radical left movements of yesteryear. It also shows that no radicals from that era escaped unscathed, whether exiled or killed, or eventually co-opted into the neoliberal fold. From being associated with the BPP, to saying that Obama was of the same mold as those black radical leftists of the past. Nothing more depressing than continuing to learn just how systematically these movements were destroyed.
I agree to an extent, but at least she is out there telling people to read Marx, and I'd assume she was able to get some good messages into her students brains
