It was… fine. You got like a voucher for 2 margaritas and they were extremely sweet. We ended up hiking a couple miles to a torchy’s tacos and that was way more fun

The move is to go to the brewery itself the day they hold the beer fest, you’ll have the whole place to yourself

yeah but if by food truck you mean like an old bus that was converted into a taqueria or a tamale cart

otherwise shit is just overpriced gentrified trash

The food trucks in my undisclosed location are very good, but the best ones either have extremely weird hours, or quit after a couple years and become a catering business.

food trucks in prague are based, very tasty, and highly vietnamese, interestingly

oh and they all have copious amounts of cheap beer

Yes! Many times. (I guess I have to do this) Though the food trucks in my area are there mostly all year and are near a university. I hear there is competition over food truck locations, so the shit ones may have been pushed out

Yes. Exactly once. Their only gimmick was that they made mac and cheese out of actually good cheese, tossed on some panko, then popped it in a toaster oven to brown it up right before serving. They eventually gave up on the food truck and set up a static location, then pivoted into a catering business.

They can be good, but I can't think of a time I'd choose them over a mid-range Chinese/Thai place, let alone a proper restaurant if price and convenience wasn't a concern.

A food truck in my town has the best fries that I ever tasted. Everything else is just nice but the fries are glorious.

Yes! Exactly once! It eventually became a brick-and-mortar though.

Reiterating the "mexican food stands are sometimes amazing" but adding that a pizza stand in Savannah Georgia is actually one of my favorite pizzas I've ever had

You get to do Stammtisch? Where you sit next to randos in any open seats? Love it when random drunk old germans try to talk to me in heavy accents and I get only half of it.

I don't know if I did that specifically, but I did have more than a couple conversations with random Germans. It helped that I had family who spoke the language and are also outgoing enough that they pushed me to talk.

Pretty sure its just the concept of like the tables where you sit wherever you find seats. Sometimes tables have that label, others not. Idk i live in the Netherlands, so its still a foreign concept but one I've encountered a lot.

But glad you had fun and hope you can enjoy again sometime

I hate fused food when I can't even get good Mexican or Chinese food. These mfs just use it as a cop out bc they don't know what they are doing.

They're hit or miss depending on the town. With good organizers they can be pretty fun. One I went to had amateur wrestling at like 8 pm and a cigar shop. So me and my friend just got wasted and chomped on cheap cigars while screaming at sweaty dudes. Got our pictures taken with them and everything, it ruled.
