    The British Empire had more industrial capacity than both the US and USSR combined, yet its productive output fell short of either, all because Churchill wanted to protect the sanctity of le market, even as London was getting pummeled.

    It’s why I find it funny how right wingers seem to have a hateboner for FDR for doing the opposite. If he had the same approach as Churchill, war would have ended later, with the US being unable to take advantage of post-war Europe as quickly as it did (assuming the Soviets don’t take Paris).

      I mean what is even funnier is that the right's greatest allies, billionaires like the Koch's, wouldn't exist without the shoveling of money the government did to the private sector as a part of centralizing WWII oil production.
