    As of now, travel within the United States is still relatively safe, as is crossing the border if you have your paperwork in order. Much more important is having a support system in place once people arrive.

    One possible model would be to have a group of homes to regularly host meals and lodging, but to have them spread out so no one residence had to support a bunch of extra people on their own. If anyone has any more info on historical processes for settling refugees, I would appreciate the reading.
