So the Republican legislature of Kansas has scheduled an anti-abortion constitutional amendment vote during the primary election instead of during the general elections and the liberal media responds by whining and pulling out their hair (just look at that url, "kansas-abortion-vote-not-fair-plan.html"). Shouldn't you just be laughing all the way to the ballot as you :vote: in overwhelming numbers? I thought you loved voting?

Even when Republicans aren't lying, cheating, and stealing elections, they just play the game better than Democrats.

gee liberals, it's weird how you love this procedural ratfucking shit when it's used to protect your left flank

In capitalist society, providing it develops under the most favourable conditions, we have a more or less complete democracy in the democratic republic. But this democracy is always hemmed in by the narrow limits set by capitalist exploitation, and consequently always remains, in effect, a democracy for the minority, only for the propertied classes, only for the rich. Freedom in capitalist society always remains about the same as it was in the ancient Greek republics: freedom for the slaveowners. Owing to the conditions of capitalist exploitation, the modern wage slaves are so crushed by want and poverty that "they cannot be bothered with democracy", "cannot be bothered with politics"; in the ordinary, peaceful course of events, the majority of the population is debarred from participation in public and political life.

The primaries are democratic enough to choose the party leadership, but not democratic enough to hold public referenda. :thonk:

(Let me be clear, there's nothing democratic about holding referenda to eliminate human rights in the first place, but that's another story)

It would still be democratic, just evil. Like, if every American voted to nuke Africa just cause, and it was unanimous, that would be 100% democratic.
