As a heat wave has swept across southern China in recent days, many people in big cities have found that air raid shelters are an ideal place to hide from the scorching sun.

Maybe because I’m American and starved of public places I’m allowed to exist for free but this sounds cool as hell.

They mention one of them is an art exhibit and others are Tea houses and restaurants.

    Building just a bit down into the earth really can make a big difference in climates where temps fluctuate. The earth will tend to keep the mean temp - actually a little lower. For single family homes, at least. Having a basement and a duct and a fan can be a substitute for AC in many climate.
