Like, what do Valorant, Monkey Island, MGS, Spore, Chess, and that Half-Earth Socialism one that got posted on here a while back really have in common? The problem isn't games, it's shit games (I'd argue they're also still art, just shit art that reinforces capital. Plenty of that out there).

idk for what little it's worth, as someone who once greatly enjoyed grrm's work i think you've definitely got some good points about the fetishistic focus given to certain atrocities that isn't present in stories that depict similar sorts of suffering
