So, I want to make the long story short. I'm seeking funds to assist in becoming employed and with rent. Basically, I'm short on my rent by a couple of hundred dollars and I have been extended a job offer, but the job offer is contingent on two things. One, me having a valid driver's license, and two, me passing a certification exam. Right now, I don't have a valid driver's license. My driver's license is expired.

In the state of Texas, there is currently a five-month waiting period to get an appointment at the DMV. I can't wait five months. I'm from Louisiana. I have an address that I can use as my place of residence to receive mail and such in Louisiana until I can get my driver's license switched over to Texas. The biggest concern is having that non-expired license so that I could take this certification exam and start this new job that's been extended to me. So, in order for me to go get this new license, however, I need to buy a bus ticket there and back and that's going to come out to about $130. I don't have $130. I'm short on my rent, as I've already said. I am unsure what to do, but I know that I need money, I need funds, or I'm going to become homeless again. I've already been homeless twice.

The first time when I was kicked out at age 18 and the second time during COVID after I got evicted because I lost my job during COVID. I know that the whole point of mutual aid is you're not supposed to get something in return, but I am an artist and if you donate, leave a comment, I will send you some art, I will send you a piece of work, I will send you something so that way you feel like you got something out of it and that way I feel like I'm not just taking advantage.

I appreciate any and all support that comes my way. I am really trying not to have a panic attack at the fact that I might be homeless again. It's one of those things that sometimes I will just have nightmares about and I'm not afraid or ashamed to admit that.

    Another update:

    1. I had to turn down the job offer, simply put, impossible for me to both pay my rent and to get the job.
    2. I have another job interview tomorrow afternoon. I'm confident I'll get it and be able to start right away.
    3. I'm still really broke, like overdrafted broke. No food, cup of noodle broke. My rent is handled at least.

    All of this is to say, I could still use a bit of support in the meantime between starting this job (and getting paid) and now.
