I would love to compare how North Korea mourned over the Kim Il-Sung and compare it to how the UK is reacting. Even given that one was the ultimate badass who risked his life for liberation and then led a country after it got genocided. The other happened to be born into the right family, and that's it.

It's like the point I make constantly about how Americans revere the Founding Fathers far, far more than the North Koreans revere the Kims. With a token gestures (schools, roads, etc) I mean, not actual reverence.

And yet terf island will breathlessly condemn people mourning in the dprk as propaganda or w/e when they do shit like this. Astounding.

TBF I've yet to talk to a single person that thinks that cancelling all these events makes any sense. Even those that lean pro-monarchy. This shit is 100% media washed BS to make the royals look more popular than they are.

Many funerals are now being cancelled too.

And today's latest is that Centre Parcs and other holiday resorts are announcing they are closing on the day of the funeral and people in the middle of their holidays or already booked will just have to find somewhere else to stay for 24hrs.

    Absolutely batshit.
