    It's not like there's a longstanding track record where we use one 'crises' as an excuse to broaden the state surveillance apparatus

    Also these fucking things apparently could cost north of a couple k per DOOR

    Looking around, the lowest I could find per door was like $1,200 or so...what kind of vandalism are you having where this is more cost effective lmao?

        When I was young my school tried the policy to lock all toilets. You had to get a key for it and there you would also get 1 roll of toilet paper.

        Was absolutely mad.

      I don't even think this is about surveillance. You're already a registered student in a school full of cameras moving between classes that take daily attendance. Who the fuck is even going to be checking these log files? It just looks like an excuse to piss money away on a non-problem for the benefit of some chud with a finger-print scanner installation business.
