Anarchism to them doesn't represent its revolutionary message or its true goals it just represents an outlet of anti-establishment feelings and unhappiness. They aren't anarchists, they could be but they need to fucking learn more and stop being tools of the very thing they oppose.

This shit drives more and more of them to reject anarchism as they slowly learn theory because they don't want to be associated with these people. I want them to find a new name for their group as a lightning rod, they could do a lot of good. Vanguardist Anarchism or something.

The people who learn more, call themselves marxists, and then agree with all the prefigurationist, anti-violence, and abolitionist things I say really shows that no one understands what anarchism is except burnt out anarchists radicalized 10 years ago.

I really believe that there is a way to distinguish between the current trend in online "anarchism" and its obviously problematic lack of any theory whatsoever and those that move on to learning theory. This theory-led anarchist group can function as an anarchist vanguard if they distinguish themselves so that like-minded people come and coordinate their efforts together as a group.

It would also be possible to argue this group is historically closer to the most successful anarchists in history as Makhno himself was distinctly different to anarchists of his time as he agreed with Lenin's vanguard theory. I don't think I need to make the case for how vanguardism was also major in Spain given the collaboration between communists and anarchists.

A separate name would also prompt people into learning what that name is, why that group exists, and what they believe. This itself would cause some of these anarchists to learn.

After watching the patsocs manage to distinguish themselves on vibes alone I really don't think this would be very difficult when the groups exist already. The well-learned anarchists feel politically homeless alongside these fucking ""anarchists"" doing and saying dumb shit like vocally supporting nato.

Makhno didn't write "the platform" until after the civil war, as sort of a "what we wished we'd done."

That said, I don't think you influence people by separating yourself from them, but by engaging in struggle with them. The task isn't to create a purer "anarchist" line, it's to engage baby anarchists in anarchist projects so they become radicalized through common struggle with fellow workers, non-humans, and more experienced anarchists. BLM did more for actual anarchist consciousness than any anarchist vanguard ever could.

It's not about creating a purer line it's about creating a beacon to gather likeminded anarchists into a space where they produce less polluted content educate in an anarchist way that is distinguished from the existing current.

Among communists we have the average socialist but then we have the dedicated revolutionary vanguard - party members. These party members aren't "purer" socialists they are just well educated ones taking on the task in an organised way. It is necessary to distinguish them from the average socialist though in order to gather the like-minded ones together so they can actually achieve the job they set out to do of guiding the movement as a whole.

Obviously the idea of forming an anarchist party is bullshit but setting apart some sort of group that functions as a vanguard is important. This group does not exist right now, the entire movement is adrift at sea and the only vanguard doing real work with it are the CIA.

My point is that you can't get these like minded people together without giving them a name so they can organise around that name.
