As far as I'm concerned when it comes to Ukrainian "territory" you simply can't ever hope to side with imperialist NATO and fascists without consequences honestly. Anyone thinking that Ukrainian autonomy is something worth considering should realize the train left the station when Zelensky refused the peace treaty back in April after being forced by the UK/Boris.
That peace treaty if you recall had a security guarantee for Ukraine backed the US, EU and Russia.
IMO these referendums are nothing but check marks on the war goal list. The real main war goal is to stop NATO advancing towards Russia's borders and this wont be achieved until we see some sort of critical collapse of the Ukrainian government, either through territory conquest or a peace deal which Russia already said months ago they don't care about anymore.
The pro-Russian commentators were already speculating Russia may eventually go as far as Odessa. And if things realy get out of hand some even say Poland wants to take western Ukraine themselves.
