Where does Musk fit into the lib imaginary? Like the standard MSNBC /Russiagate/ Pelosi-girlboss lib. Do they see him as apolitical because he is outside electoral politics, and "cool" because he's an MCU-adjacent billionaire who offers a stream of futuristic fantasies? Will they turn on him? DID they turn on him?

This group is too large to make a meaningful generalization about. But going off twitter I think they broadly dislike him because of his Trump flirtation and occasional posting about wokeness being bad

Didn't Musk have some pretty notably right wing takes recently? I remember people were saying that it was a sign that his attempt to brand himself as "real life Tony Stark" had failed and he was trying to pivot to being a right wing guy, and other people saying that it was just his mask slipping because of course he's always been a racist white South African.

The collective westoid / anglo memmory is of Howard Hughes who helped develop jet planes, air craft, eccentric millionaire playboy who succumbed to mental illness (or chemical toxification?) in his later years. Was probably not a nice guy either. I'm certain a large portion of m'ericans view musk through a similar lens.
