The two best Harry Potter movies. They were actually trying to give off a sense of wonder and magic, how it would actually feel if you were a neglected kid all your life, but are suddenly put into a magical world, while the rest of them were just some Hollywood shite.

The first one having that sense of magical wonderment is why Wizard People, Dear Reader works so well. And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, please enjoy https://vimeo.com/492873316

On a fairly low budget, to boot.

sure he cruelly genocided the Taíno, but he also made Gremlins so it's impossible to say if he's bad or not

My only issue with it is the story about the love interest's dad dying by breaking his neck in a chimney seems slightly out of place.

I just wanna watch little guys tear shit up during Christmas and maybe kill people but in cartoonish ways. The overly dark tragic back-story kills the vibe for me.

Could've just made him die in a car crash on his way home for Christmas, or cheated on the mom near Christmas, or something like that.
