Here is November 8th's update! TLDR? Here's the summary.

I strategically retreated from doing an update on Wednesday (and I always perform tactical update withdrawals on Thursdays and Sundays) so this next one covers a bit from those two days.

Here is November 11th's update! TLDR? Here's the summary.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

User name checks out. Maybe look closer when you are sober.

    1. There a a bunch of militant nazis from around the world that are now worm food.

    2. Confidence in the US$ has been irreparably damaged by the theft of Russian reserves and the attempt to force a default by not allowing Russia to pay its debts when it had the money.

2,a. BRICKS has made significant gains in terms of members and proving the viability and need to move away from US$ hegemony.

    1. Europe has significantly depleted its military equipment reserves, destabilised itself politically and economically, and is deindustrializing itself, all of which will delay if not destroy NATO's ability to attack Russia in the future.

    2. Russia has secured a fresh water supply for Crimea.

    3. Russia occupies 20% of Ukraine and the war is only getting started. They haven't even deployed their first mobilization and Ukraine is on their 5th round of conscription.

all of which will delay if not destroy NATO’s ability to attack Russia in the future.

I don’t think this can be true in a world with nuclear weapons. Unless something changes that disrupts MAD, Germany’s army could be three dudes in a field and it wouldn’t matter because open conflict with them would mean glassing the planet. The depletion of NATO’s equipment only matters in instances of proxy wars and I’m not sure where Russia is planning on invading next where that will mean anything for them. Additionally any point about depletion of arms for NATO has to be true for Russia too as they’re even more directly involved in this war. The rate of depletion may vary but it’s a double edged sword in that way.

I’d also add that most of the financial outcomes from this war are byproducts of the SMO rather than intended outcomes. Overtime the rhetoric has come to decoupling from the west but that wasn’t present in the initial casus belli for invading Ukraine and has appeared to occur in reaction to western sanctions rather than any Russian economic strategy. (Also the dollar’s only gotten stronger since the SMO’s started. Global instability has pushed the varied national capitalist classes to invest in the global hegemon as a place of safety. Seizing foreign money has hurt the image of the US as the bank at the end of the universe, but it’s still deemed the safest investment for the majority of the globe.)

The Euro’s also tanked in that same time period. The real outcome of this war has been the impoverishment of europe, tho again I struggle to see how intentional that was especially since Russia wanted to keep the gas exports to Germany flowing and it was the west that shut that down

The main problem with this is that both sides in this war are Nazis, so the Nazi problem will only get worse in the future.

No you’re actually wrong about that. The Russians are definitely a bunch of socially reactionary chuds but that’s not the same as being ethnic cleansing Nazis. There are the occasional Wagner Nazi sure and I’m glad to see that those guys have taken heavy casualties, but on the Russian side they’re actually very rare, a handful, whereas on the Ukrainian side well the neonazi party won 25% of the vote and were in control of the defense department and the intelligence agency, with around 30-50,000 members of outright Nazi militias. And that was before the war, before the Nazi azovs were declared to be heroes and feted in the west. Don’t forget the azovs aren’t the only Nazis there, not even close, they just happened to have the best social media game. Svoboda and right sector are not just some fringe element, they are politically dominant.

The Russians are chuds no doubt about it a bunch of socially reactionary homophobic and transphobic chuds but that’s not the same as being a Nazi. If you’re going to horseshoe theory this then do it on Reddit instead.

Maybe you’re using Nazi in the very loose and colloquial sense that Putin is an authoritarian insofar as he uses the power of the state and alliances with oligarchs to remain without serious political opposition, but that colloquial language doesn’t really work when there are honest to god actual SS idolizing nazis on just one side.

If you are going to pretend the army wearing insignias lifted directly from actual Waffen SS are the same when you think about it as the Russian chuds then you’re engaging in an extremely superficial form of essentialism.

What they mean by Nazi is also the fact that these guys idolize the WAFFEN SS does that not compute for you?

And is that pro-NATO talking points? Please are you really on this forum while believing that Vaushite shit? You think NATO are the military wing of trans and gay liberation?

Like seriously what a fucking Reddit take to say being anti-NATO is the same when you think about it as being an insignia wearing Nazi advocating ethnic cleansing and racial purification through war.

            :biden-alert:

You don’t have to support Russia if their transphobic and homophobic social policies are a bridge too far for you, sure I don’t care if that’s your line you draw that for yourself, but to take another step and insist “everyone I don’t like is a Nazi” is actually stupid especially when one side are dominated by actual waffen SS “Hitler was a liberator” Banderite Nazis.

        "anyone I don't like is a nazi"

Are Russian soldiers wearing swastikas and Totenkopf? because every second Ukrainian soldier is. Are Russians calling the other side dehumanizing racial slurs? Because Ukrops and their supporters cant help but say "orc" every chance they get.

One side celebrates the fall of Berlin the other side has marches honoring the SS Galacia and prominent Anti-Semite Fascists.

Saying both sides are nazis is like saying a guy who can quote every line from Startrek OS and A guy who thiks William Shatner's actual name is "Captain Kirk" are both Trekkies.

            various slurs

            Like?

            is pure fascism and imperialism

You are shifting goal posts. Nazism is a specific brand of extreme fascism that emphasises anti-Semitism and aryan supremacy.

Russia is autocratic but there is no institutionalized social hierarchy or aggression against minority groups. Their aren't pogroms or mass detentions based on discrimination. Yes there is a anti-LGBTQI+ sentiment but they don't use it as a scape goat for all the problems in the country. It isn't a good situation there by any means but it isn't fascism and is certainly not Nazism like you are saying.

Russia is not imperialist because they don't invade nations for territory or resources. On the contrary most of their military activity has been directly opposed to the US Empire making them anti imperialist. They have been involved in separatist/civil wars but they have always been invited. Ukraine wasn't invaded Russia was invited by a legitimate separatist movement just like in Moldova and Georgia. In Syria and Albania Russian troops were invited to assist in fighting ethno-nationalists and invaders supported by NATO nations. They have no delusions about becoming the next world hegemon and are actively fighting against the world hegemon. Russia certainly has expansionist desires but they seem to be limited to wanting to control former soviet territories with significant Russian speaking populations. They have no desire to rule people who don't want to be ruled by them. Russia is not imperialist.
