I've recently gotten back into Longboarding (like, skateboarding), and surfing. Both are relatively cheap hobbies once you get the necessary equipment, and I've been having a blast. Feel like a kid again tbh, I feel like I haven't "played" outside for years outside of some hiking and stuff
I have a little electric forge that I like to melt things with. My sparkling water addiction means I've always got lots of aluminum ingots lying around, and my love of guns ensures a steady supply of brass. I've been getting into lost wax casting with it, although with mixed results because I was lazy and used plaster as a medium. Now that I've got some petro-sand, I hope to make some nicer things. Even something as simple as making your own tools out of bronze (~90% copper, ~10% aluminum) is incredibly rewarding. Looking into amateur metallurgy, I'd like to try making a batch of vintage gunmetal. A couple years ago I made a shiny cast aluminum face mask that I posted here under a different account, along with a rant about covid eugenics and the propaganda of normality.
Oh, and gardening. Plants really help my ADHD brain feel okay, and now my place looks like a jungle inside.
oh my god are you the silver legion
:silver-legion:
I remember your mask! It was really cool.
Thank you:soviet-heart:
I've always wanted to get into casting. I follow a YouTube channel that just does casting and I love it. It looks like such a rewarding time.
Is it BigStackD, because that's what got me into it
Robinson Foundry. But I do love bigstacks ASMR vids.
