The video is Cockshott's new one where this weirdo gets personally quoted and debunked throughout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEsuQyyv5hc
I’ve never heard this nonsense. Baristas’ labor adds use value to beans by turning them into flat whites. How do you fuck this up?
Edit to add:
No it’s not, the barista’s labor accounts for less than 5% of the real cost of the commodity, 95% of the real value already exists in the commodity. Please read Marx.
Aside from this person not bothering to do the math, they don’t seem to understand unequal exchange. They seem to be equivalating the periphery’s labor wages with that of the labor aristocrats in the imperial core who benefit (less and less lately) from their inequality.
Some baristas have pink hair so they are not productive labourers. To do productive labour, you have to be a large American man wearing a hardhat and covered in soot.
How about overalls? Are those required or optional?
I didn't realise how strict the dress code was, so I need to take notes.
I love when these people say you need to be "unbiased" because they always mean (whether they realise it or not) that they just want you to confirm their preconcieved biases. There's bias, and then there's the unbiased truth, which agrees with me.
