Bribing someone also has to work on an interpersonal level, especially big things like this, the ones being bribed need to at least not really care.

Here I think they really don't like the rich, racist, arrogant,, anglo pimp who hangs out in "their" country to do human trafficking. So noone wants to help him. "Don't shit where you eat" is a saying for a reason, but he is too alienated to realise that he lives in a society.

This is mostly vibes based analysis though.

His face being all over the news (his fault) doesn't help his chances either. If he just walks people are going to ask questions and investigate.

Also Romania wants to be viewed as less corrupt, so chances are if your arrest is this high profile there are going to be a lot of eyes on it, making people less likely to accept bribes.

the way I see it, arresting such a public asshole is too valuable of a :im-doing-my-part: against human trafficking to even bother with a bribe. It creates a real "yay the death start is destroyed" moment for everyone to clap and go back home to liberal business as usual.

Yep, in life as in fiction, the primary question most people ask when they see someone is "Who is this asshole and why should I care".

While most people and societies have developed answers of varying success, I can't even think of something Tate could do that would answer that question for me if he was asking me for a glass of water in a desert and I was Queen of all of Ceres.

He's bragged on camera about how easy it is to bribe your way out of sex trafficking allegations in Romania. Romania is also preparing to join the Schengen Agreement (the free trade zone that includes the western EU countries and Switzerland) and the main objection to that is ... Romania's track record of rampant sex trafficking and corruption.

So he may very well be a high profile case they can throw to the wolves to send a message to Brussels and join Schengen.

I mean if he's a Romanian mob patsy (like seriously he's just doing trafficking out in the open, he must be tbh) they're basically planning on that guy getting jailed eventually.

Andrew Tate demanding that they seize more of his cars like Julius Caesar demanding pirates increase his ransom

The other 22 cars are actually just identical Dacia Logans that he bought to say he owns 33 cars.
