BREAKING: The South Dakota Attorney General reported hitting a deer Saturday night but had actually hit and killed a man whose body wasn’t discovered until the next morning, according to the Department of Public Safety. A friend's mother died this way. She was out for a walk, got hit by a drunk driver (a very upstanding member of the community! on the school board!) who didn't call anybody and went home so he could pretend that his wife was driving. They said my friend's mom likely didn't die right away. She suffered and died there alone by the side of the road. At least they figured out what had happened and the guy got convicted. Won't bring my friend's mom back to life though.
