A United States Interior Department staffer on Wednesday became the first Jewish political appointee to publicly resign in protest of US support for Israel’s war in Gaza.
Lily Greenberg Call, a special assistant to the chief of staff in the Interior Department, accused US President Joe Biden of using Jews to justify US policy in the conflict.
Call had worked for the presidential campaigns of both Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris and was a longtime activist and advocate for Israel in Washington and elsewhere before joining the government.
Opposition to Biden is reaching farther and farther into the lib establishment. It's far beyond just leftists and the usual lib critics of American empire.
Maybe the internal Dem split on the issue will prevent that from happening. The 2024 post-mortem is going to have a significant minority of Dems screaming "it's the genocide, stupid" at the majority, who will have just spent the last several months defending it.
