America gets the cultural victory screen but the background noise is just gunfire and screams
As someone from the country not only am I shaken by recent events, but also by people's analyses and "takes" on them. I know people are rightly disturbed by the shootings, especially the first one, and hurting because of that, but you see them broadly lamenting the state of our society and finding the fault lies with anything from trivialities like video-games to some vague notion of "western influence". That's not going to help. It's scary.
