Poor Porthos, being around those lunatics should be considered animal abuse.

Hard agree. Nothing in modern trek is as awful as the gratuitous lube scenes and the 9/11 God Bless The Troops season where Florida got cut in half.

To be fair they did get their head out of their ass for the last two seasons, and there were a few early episodes that had TNG season 3 quality

But that goddamn third season, now that is one hell of a cultural artifact lmao

Picard was definitely worse and up until RLM decided they liked the memberberries in the final episodes, they were otherwise pleased to share in detail why that was.

Any Star Trek fan knows there are certain episodes that should be considered non-canon

Like the Star Wars Holiday Special is for Star Wars fans

Voyager is the origin story of an Evil Admiral.

Tuvix is nothing compared to the actual ending of Voyager.

Sure. Janeway kills a sentient being to get two of her crew back. Compare that to completely shredding the Temporal Prime Directive and doing a genocide just to save a handful of her own crew and her guilt. And apparently, it all leads to a horrible mass casualty event two decades later anyways.

I don't hate it though, tbh. Picard did things to preserve the TPD like refusing to aid the Enterprise C and sending it to its death because it's what was supposed to happen (even though sending Yar back led to different events). He also specifically refused to do the thing Janeway did by poisoning the Borg collective. BUT, Picard had the advantage of never being too far from home. I'd probably do the same thing as Janeway, tbh.

Honestly I supported Janeway's decision because Tuvix was kinda of annoying

If Voyager producers were actualy competent Tuvix would have been a season long guest character, we would get to know him, get attached, maybe even pretend we wouldn't get Neelix and Tuvok back and then bam something something Janeway kills him.

Yeah maybe have the other two actors be on some temporal/4th dimension or whatever, I mean they did that with DS9 warmhole alien shit, the stupid Bajoran orb etc etc, have Tuvok and Neelix become part of Tuvix conciousness or something even for just 2 or 3 episodes.

As it stands of course Janeway's decision is controversion but it didn't have to be, again maybe at some point we learn they were still alive or something, add the emotional drama etc.

The problem with the episode is the obvious meta consciousness from the viewer, everyone fucking knows they would come back so there is no real stake.

[TUVIX] as a concept episode could have been great but too many mistakes and the obvious wrong decision brings it down. Dear Doctor though, there is nothing that could have salvaged this other than a complete rewrite, apparently the first draft was miles better too.

But also, the title was referencing the worst of Enterprise not Trek in general, indeed there are other terrible episodes too.
