My buddy and I are having our first movie riffing night in many months and need some suggestions for a film to laugh at and/or thrash mercilessly. Hoping for something free to watch online or on Hulu. We've previously enjoy the hilarious lib-brain fantasy of JFK and the groping/harassment level nostalgia for useless boomers in The Trial of the Chicago Seven (should I report Sorkin tried to touch me in a bad place?). Can you help us??

God's Not Dead 1, 2, and 4 are great for this (3 is too dreary imo). Oh! Have you seen Assassin: 33 AD? That shit's fascinating!

Oh yeah! Assassin: 33AD sounds hilarious! What's the God's Not Dead series?

It's slop for evangelicals to fantasize about owning evil atheist professors and lawyers in debate and thereby defending One Nation Under God. 4 represents a pivot from culture war stuff to promoting Christian nationalism more properly. The first one particularly I've watched like 4 or 5 times and shown to about a dozen people because it's such a lovely encapsulation of the evangelical ethos (with homophobia toned down but the racism very present).

It’s hard to find the Original Assassin 33 AD. It’s been replaced with a recut that’s less Islamophobic, less suspenceful and with lots of cut-away explanations.
