For anyone who has done this, how does the process work? I know the transfer has to be at a FFL, but so like...do I drive to the person's house and look at the gun, and then we go to the gun shop if I want it? I've heard there is a backlog on background checks lately, and if that's the case, would the FFL keep the gun until it clears and then I have to go back there to pick it up at a later date?

Also I've never bought a used gun before, so if anyone's got tips on inspecting one without being able to fire it I'd really appreciate it. I'm trying to pick up a 9mm PCC if that matters.
