It was my impression that people who are paid under the table usually aren't caught, much less charged, unless it's a large amount of money. Is that mistaken?
If the government wants to go after you, all they have to do is check if you put money into a bank account. In the age of debit cards, that’s pretty much everyone which is why people panicked so hard when the feds tried to expand the IRS.
