There was a solid decade or so, starting in the 90s, where corporate media had this horrible habit of cramming the title :maybe-later-honey: "REALITY BYTES" :maybe-later-kiddo: everywhere it could (with anything involving technology or the nascent internet) to try to be hip and with it with the then-younger Gen-X apathy-and-ennui crowd. It was fucking infuriating because it was everywhere for a while. It wasn't a good pun the first time, and I like puns. :guts-rage:

Slightly related: fuuuuuuck "reality checks" and the smarmy way the term was usually delivered. :maybe-later-honey: :maybe-later-kiddo:

I always think about Paris Hilton and Britney, super low rise jeans, zipper that was like an inch long, whaletail, just so thin, etc.

Not a good standard to hold anyone, particularly children to. Hope it never comes back.
