Mexicans put mayo on so much stuff.

Elotes, esquites, all kinds of food that you would think could have sour cream, they’ll just put mayo cuz it’s cheaper.

Not really. The reason Mayo is put on elote is because Crema Mexicana was unavailable in the US. But no one uses Mayo in Mexico. And before the internet, people didn't know how to make it as there was an English barrier many Mexicans experienced. But now I know Crema Mexican is a cup of heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of buttermilk, lime juice and a pinch of salt. Blend that together and put it in the fridge for a day. But even my Mexican mother hasn't been able to break that English barrier. And in a weird way, I'm teaching my mom to cook. Even though she can only cook Mexican food.

they do put mayo in elotes and esquites, copious amounts of it in fact. that being said, other than hot dogs and hamburgers, i can't think of any other street food in mexico that uses mayo.

You guys never been to a Mexican county fair? Cucumber is very normal on those cheap tacos, all lightly dusted with a healthy ppm of other stuff.

    Also... come to Mexico

sometimes it's okay to experiment with new combinations of things

i would pickle the cucumbers and jalapeno slices and add some sriracha to that mayonnaise and see how that do

Looks like a burrito with whatever they had in the fridge.

Which is basically also my preferred method of eating leftovers. Almost anything is better wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.

Sorry for the cultural appropriation its just too delicious. I'll understand when I'm first against the wall.

hmmm you're right. my second guess would be the big mission-brand tortillas, which are fucking disgusting. it's too bad you don't get tia rosa in the states, otherwise pic would be perfectly acceptable.

One thing that really sticks out to me is that they spent all that time assembling these individually and left them all open and then took a fucking photo, so they're all way colder than they should be. Hate that shit

The cucumbers are the only thing that definitely should not be on there. Everything else is ok.

the only problem with this is the animal abuse products. from a culinary perspective it's fine. stop being weird.

Tortilla as thick as a plate (and looking like straight out of the package, not cooked at all), mushy rice, cucumbers, mayo, and (what I presume is) ketchup. nah, aint a single thing fine about this.
