He was being judged for abuse of power during his presidential campaign by the Brazilian election court, the vote is 4-1 right now, 2 more judges left to go but it is already done, he can’t be a candidate in any election for 8 years, which is not enough punishment imo but it is a start
He deserves much worse but this is a good start! Next step: throw him in jail before he fucks off to the states again.
the funny thing is he is gonna appeal this but like there are like 15 other cases on electoral court alone, and he is involved in many criminal investigations, and he just needs to be convicted of one of those to get the 8 years which is just the maximum allowed, also he is for the first time in years outside of a political position, he does not have the political immunity he had for all that time which means he could go to the jail for some of his weird crimes like getting a really expensive gem from a foreign country and not declaring it and keeping it for yourself, there is just a lot to work with here
