      In all honesty

I have when people use the rhetorical trick of dressing up their opinions with "honestly" as if presenting some brave truth instead of a fucking opinion.

      "The Dark Knight" trilogy

"Things bad but attempting to change them is worse, actually" with badge-humping is not really that complex or original a narrative arc nor one with much emotional depth, no matter how many feelz the reddit-logo had about it because it fit his enlightened centrism ideology and probably even helped to shape it.

It was capeshit trying hard to seem more mature. That's the only difference it had with the MCU as far as I'm concerned.

it's no more copaganda than the usual capeshit/mafia film

but besides that is any film split into multiple parts an advertisement for another film lmao

is war and peace part one an ad for war and peace part two, is fellowship an ad for two towers

one of the main characters is a NY police chief and they had the audacity to include BLM shit in there. They're the modern day SS, that should be seen as a serious mark against the film regardless of historical context

if you fail to provide a complete narrative within in your movie, yes. You can watch the first Star Wars film and get a full movie. Just because other films also fuck this up doesn't mean its acceptable

Actors don't *really" matter now unless they have some overlap with "idol" bullshit. porky-happy can't (yet) truly and fully own actors, but owning IPs is easy. Cinema being about recycled rebooted reimagined bazinga slop forever and ever is a money fountain.

There are still interesting films made, but it's basically only A24 making them, and I fear that studio will go more bland too.

Tom Cruise just doesn't have the juice he used to.
