In a place I used to live in, the kitchen countertop was not fixed to the cabinetry it sat on. It usually wasn't an issue but when cutting anything large or heavy like watermelons it would sometimes shift. One time it jerked so bad that a vase fell over and broke.

Any variety of "everything is just as bad at all times everywhere, always has been, and always will be, therefore the thing that you said is bad doesn't matter" apathy pitching.

It gets especially reddit-logo when DAE LE OLD PEOPLE IN ANCIENT GREECE MAD AT YOUNG PEOPLE gets conjured up as an earth-salting tactic in any such counterjerk.

It is used to dismiss grill-broke too, but that's just part of the carpetbombing spread.

I've seen predatory monetization and manipulative practices complained about by people trying contemporary online dating get shot down with "dating has always been just as easy and just as hard" and it went straight into the DAE LE ANCIENT GREEKS very-intelligent too.
