"queer" is for people who fall outside the societal "norms" of sexuality, attraction, and gender presentation. If someone feels they fit that description, who are we to stop them

Demisexual is under the term queer. We are not allosexual but can appear to be straight to outsiders in the same matter that bi people can come off as straight.

To truely be straight one must be the following: heterosexual, allosexual, cis gendered, heteroromantic, monogomous. If there is a deviation from that the person is queer.

We do this to recognize the diversity that people feel and express love and identity and not shun people for their difference. Maybe some Trans or demi people that want to fit in want to call themselves straight, but in my understanding, they are not and appreciate the beautiful diversity of humanity.

There's a lot of discourse and you could probably kick off a struggle session if you posted about it. Fwiw I don't think rich white guys with many mistresses are queer, but I wouldn't argue against someone living in a polycule or something.

Isn't demisexual on the asexual spectrum, and asexuals are part of the LGBTQ+ community (to some people's disapproval) due to shared struggles and societal bias against them?
