I always knew they had it in them, I just thought they'd ease into it a little

false alarm this time but probably a good idea overall - presumable felon tusk is going to start doing his best to kill nitter-type stuff some or other time

relatedly: my heart yearns for the web of the late 00s to early 10s where you could write your own automatons that just did things

2010~2014: "post this link for me and also make an archive of it and remind me to check up on it in 2 hours"? sure thing, here's a yahoo pipes workflow

2015+: you want to...use the "data"....? in...... something else? I don't understand. where do the ads go?

we have been listening to the community sentiment

translation: oh shit, didn't realize you lot would pay attention

@kbw released this forum post today to address some missteps, provide context and give a constructive place for our community members

translation: stfu you rabble, how dare you step on our well-made plans. get back to your side of the street!

We acknowledge that our communication missteps have ripple effects and we are working to improve how we approach better community decision-making

translation: next time we'll hide the announcement of this kind of plan way better

We’re listening and would like to invite everyone to participate in the development of a process that supports the selection and promotion of partners who feel aligned with our community’s values moving forward.

translation: okay we think we've found a way to keep you occupied... err I mean, can you check out this list? it's the people I'm thinking to put on my dancecard for the ball.. just want your opinion..

They didn’t really backpedal. They are still taking the money but:

We know that for some of you, running rounds where Shell is involved is not really the problem…but giving them a stage to amplify their voice is.

Wtf stage do they think they are giving to SHELL?
