Don't want to spoil anything for those of you who arent caught up on the manga, but I've heard some hot takes regarding Eren and how the show is fash propaganda. Even though I see where these takes are coming from, I cant help but enjoy reading the manga.

I watched the first few episodes and found it just to be a really unenjoyable show. Quit at the point that

where Eren first fuckin ninjutsu transforms into a Titan and back

because I felt like the only consistent elements of gritty realism and technological focus got undermined. At that point I was just like "Okay this show just wants to be miserable for the sake of being miserable, not because of any sort of commitment to a universe with consistent rules or limitations."

Eh. Read through some of the wiki lore and in some parts I can see what you mean as far as there being complex politics, but Titans still seem like bullshit magic that clashes with the highly-improbable-but-neat-technology shit like the maneuver gear. Like the first thing I imagined when they introduced the

        transformation

was someone doing it in a confined space and ragdolling out inside the walls like a body in Garry's Mod. Seems like there's a pretty rich plot down the line but I don't think I would have enjoyed getting to it, personally.
