It was a weird thing that happened sometime in 2015-2016 where the terminally online left (mostly on reddit IIRC) where jettisoning people for liking things like anime (for being reactionary), for liking prog rock (for being historically pretty white, they claim), and it went further, even having people choosing being transphobic as a hill to die on, saying it’s some bourgeois decadence. It solidified my tendency as it’s rather incredibly foolish to shun members for what they like, especially when the left had Zero representation in those spaces.
Are we gonna have the anime and prog rock split here too?
