I saw the ova but I guess the manga goes into full slipstream scfi territory? Should I check it out in these trying times?

I've never read Alita but if there are floating blob people like that in it, I'm in.
Yeah, appartanly it is a whole arc of crazy space shit i never knew about.
The sequel manga, Battle Angel Alita: Last Order takes place in space and you get to see how different humans have evolved (both biologically and technologically) in order to survive on different planets in the solar system. I never finished Last Order but in the original manga Alita becomes embroiled in a socialist-esque revolution which is kinda cool.
