Well damn those were the two series I was going to recommend. Altered Carbon (the Takeshi Kovacs trilogy) is really good, if you've already watched it the first season of the show deviates from the books quite a lot and the second season is barely related books.

I thought that the second book was kinda boring, but the third was a banger
Yeah the second one does kinda plod along until the end, I still liked it but definitely the weakest of the three.
