I feel the slogan 'all mods are bastards' contributes to this crap, its bad on both ends.

On one end, it plays down the discusting behavior of cops, making ACAB into 'all [thing im pissed about in the moment] are bastards', when it should be a slogan of burning hatered of the violence of capital and state.

On the other end, it compares the organizers of leftist platforms, to cops and feds, making us antagonistic to our own leadership. On the old sub, AMAB was a lighthearted joke, and this was more difficult for outside wreckers to do, as it was us vs the reddit admins. Now that were independant we have a new vulnerability that agitators can and will exploit, and we werent really prepared.

I think the 'admin election' stuff is kinda dumb too. You join this site as you would join any org, and participate as you would any org. If you come to signifigant disagreement with the org, its directions, and its actions, you leave and join one you believe to be more productive. I genuinely dont believe all too many people here are dissatisfied about the direction the leadership of this site is going. A loud minority of users can get pissed about some percieved slight and lean on the leftist's inherent distrust of authority to create a struggle against the leaders just for the sake of struggle, not because there is any real reason.

Before this struggle session I didnt really feel there was anything majorly wrong here, just the occasional eyeroll about certain users doing sectarian effortposting. When this stupid thing happened, my initial instinct was on the side of the dissenters, but since then I havent actually see the admins do anything bad. Banning transphobes is a good thing, banning hostile people (even if they are leftists) is a good thing.

Saying all this as an anarchist.
